Personal Statement
I completed my Bachelor's of Science degree at Clemson University with a major in Language and International Health (French Emphasis) and a minor in Biological Sciences. I also was in the Clemson Honors College and completed General Honors. After completing my undergraduate degree, I will attend medical school at VCOM-Carolinas in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Over the course of my undergraduate degree, I have been involved in the Undergraduate Pediatric Society and Clemson Engineers for Developing Communities (CEDC). During the 2022-2023 academic year, I was the Vice President of Community Relations where I coordinated speakers to come speak to the society and I also coordinated different pediatric events. During the 2022-23 academic year, I was a group member on the Aquaculture team in CEDC and I directed communications in French and English between the team in Clemson and the team in Haiti. During the Fall semester of 2023, I was the Project Manager (PM) of Aquaculture-Business Implementation where I am directing a team in preparing for the beginning phases of our tilapia feed business in Haiti while continuing communications in French and English between the two teams. I am confident that I can contribute my dedication, patience, and attention to detail. Being a physician takes into account these attributes, of dedication, patience, and attention to detail. Dedication is an important aspect of being a physician as the road to becoming a physician is long and strenuous. Patience is another aspect of medicine because it takes time to become acquainted to a patient as well as letting the patient tell you information when they would like. Finally, attention to detail is an important aspect of being a physician as there are minute details that are critical that many, including patients, may overlook.
